Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 for the Playstation 3 has a lot to live up to (according to the game's makers).... and it does! Woohoo, who'd have thought?
The first Far Cry was critically lauded among reviewers and loved by gamers the world over, at least on PC, where you have proper mouse-based movement controls and not the lame gamepads found on consoles which make 3rd person shooters an exercise in tedium and frustration. A mouse lets you perform precise, accelerated movements like a 135 degree spin in the blink of an eye - just not possible with a gamepad.
Ahem. Anyway, breaking away from previous games in the Far Cry series, players are whisked off to the wilds of Africa. The premise is simple - there's an arms dealer out and about going by the name of The Jackal (how original, John le Carre will be rotating rapidly).
The Jackal has been playing local warring gangs off against each other because... well, it's good for his business. Your job in Far Cry 2 is to take him out.. so fire up the PS3 and get to it!
