Fuel for the Playstation 3 portrays an alternate present where massive tracts of the USA are now no-mans-land areas as the crushing effects of global warming devastate the continent.
Storms, bush-fires, floods, hurricanes, more floods and tornados have driven folk from villages and cities into safe zones. Extreme weather brings chaos, creating thousands of square kilometres of hazardous uninhabitable areas. People turn to renewable energy in the face of the destruction caused by global warming, selling their SUVs and using energy-saving lightbulbs.
But these danger zones become a playground for a new breed of racer (who thought this thing up?). With a stockpile of fuel to be burned, adrenaline junkies (you) head into the wilderness to compete against each other in spectacular races against yourself and the elements.
